Experimenting with Abstract

In this semester I enjoyed myself once i felt free and confident to experiment and take risks while painting or while taking photos or any other way of creating art works.I also spotted an improvement in the way I paint and in the freedom of my hand while painting. In the past it was rigid but as I practised I saw it became more flexible. My subject, abstract, provided me a lot of excitment once it never limited me in any way but only gave me happiness and freedom to express myself in any way. I felt something that I personally appreciate and find highly important. I feel it results in a better outcome.

The previous paintings were experiments on abstract. Creating these paintings domimated me with  vibe of freedom and enjoyment.

After receiving advice from my tutor to play with colors once my subject is abstract and to return to photography once they are familiar with the work I had done in 2011 which was mostly photos of repetition. Here I aimed at capturing the moments the coloured water is in the air and showing the volume and movement of it. I also captured the moment the water splashed.

At first this piece of plastic was placed on the floor in order not to dirty the floor. Having all the coloured water which was made by acrylic paint and water, fall on the plastic surface this is the result we had. An abstract creation!! I really liked it and felt that without realising I created another piece of art.

All these images come from my A5 sized sketchbook which are all experiments of abstract creations. I tested myself at first on something small before I moved on to the big stuff...
